“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” –Edith Sitwell
Going to my fourth state in the last four weeks not including my home state nor connecting airport states can take a toll on you. Traveling is an absolutely amazing experience and I love it but I do feel a little burnt out after all of it in a short stretch like that. Today, as I land in my home state for the last time this year, it’s a nice feeling. It’s an end to the craziness and the insane adventure this year has been. It’s also a start to the true holiday season for me. Work dies down a bit during the holidays, I have some time off, we’ll be eating home cooked meals with family and going out with friends. I’m excited to just be home for a bit and sleep in my own bed for a few weeks straight. Amalia and I were already talking about our plans for New Years, which happens to be our anniversary from when we started dating. Usually, we do something but with the year we have had full of travel and experiences we have decided to just stay in this year and make the most out of our own home. Sometimes it’s best to appreciate what you have and I think it’s a great way to end 2021 and kick off the new year. We hope your home is as cozy and decorated as ours this season with plenty of cookies and hot choco.
