“A good deed erases a bad deed.” – Home Alone
Since the spirit of Christmas is in full tilt now as December is here, it’s fitting to use a quote from one of my favorite Christmas movies, Home Alone. It’s super easy to get caught up in all of the shopping and materialistic things surrounding Christmas. However, as TJ has mentioned before in giving your presence, not presents, try to remember what the actual reasons for the Christmas season. I saw a Toys for Tots box at the gym and realized all of the things I need to do this Christmas. No, not the gifts I need to buy everyone, but the toys I need to donate, the money I need to donate to my favorite local shelter, and the time I need to donate to help those in need. COVID had been hard on everyone and it’s especially felt around the holidays. Now, more than ever, people rely on others to help them through the tough times. If you don’t have money to donate, I suggest talking to someone struggling, writing a card for a soldier overseas, or working at a local soup kitchen or mission. Making someone smile means more than receiving a gift. Something to keep in mind this holiday season!

Today’s decluttered item is as Amalia put it my “ugly tie”. Regardless of the looks, ties are super expensive so we plan on donating it just in case someone who needs some ties can have this BEAUTIFUL one.
