“In one door and our the other.” -Unknown
Happy Halloween! We had a great weekend full of festivities. We spent time with friends and family at our costume party last night. Then today we hung out and took some trick or treaters for the first time in the new house. It was great.
For our costumes, the reveal picture is below. We were Snow Miser and Heat Miser from The Year Without A Santa Claus movie! Amalia absolutely killed it and I think mine went really well too but you be the judge. The best part is the main parts of our costumes were not purchased from a Halloween store. Since we have been trying our best not to accumulate more things, Amalia and I decided to go to the good will to find the clothes that would work well for our costume. We purchased some blue and red items to start our costumes. Our plan was to use them and then after Halloween we would be re-donating them for someone else to use. So really it’s just donating some money to a good cause to borrow some clothes for a good cause. A win-win. It’s the in one door, out the other technique. It saved us money and made us feel better about not buying a one-use costume. We hope this inspires others to use this technique next year! Happy Halloween, next stop Turkey Day.
Item 304 of 360+
Today’s decluttered item is a re-donation of all of the items we borrowed from the Good Will. We hope someone can use this graduation gown and blazers for something again in the future.
