“Slumps are like a soft bed. They are easy to get into and hard to get out of.” – Johnny Bench
Sometimes you just hit a period of time whether it be a day, a week, or even a month or two where you just lose motivation. You lose the motivation to do the things you love either because you get lazy or you fall out of your schedule where you used to do it. Whatever it may be causing you to lose your motivation, it’s important to get it back.
For example, I’ve been skipping the gym for quite some time. I didn’t see the point of killing myself and going anymore after the wedding so I cut it out of my schedule for a week, then we had vacation, then that week turned into three, then we had vacation again… I think you see where I’m going with this. It was easy to push off and I didn’t miss it. Then when I finally got the motivation to go back to the gym where I wanted to go, I couldn’t. I started to get anxiety about going to the gym because I haven’t gone in so long. I am working on it and getting myself that motivation to go back.
When you get into a slump, you’re not your normal self. Get back on track and be the person who you were and get back into then things you love. Meanwhile, I’m going to start small and go to the gym this week. I have a feeling once I break the pattern, it’ll be easy to get back there again.
Item 271 out of 360+
Today’s item is an old Tupperware I’ve kept because it’s cute and I could use it for Valentine’s Day every year. Good idea right? Wrong. I had this thing since 2015 around and I think I’ve used it two, maybe three times. When we moved into the house, I even forgot about it as it was shoved on the top of a cabinet. Needless to say, it was time to get rid of it.
