“Never allow your mind to wander untamed like a wild animal that exists on the basis of survival of the fittest. Tame your mind with consistent focus on your goals and desires. – Stephen Richards
“Go the extra mile, it’s never crowded.” – Josh Loe
Today may not always be a great day but it can always be the best possible version of the day with the right attitude. Not everyday is supposed to be rainbows and lollipops but that’s what makes things interesting. You never know what could happen, maybe it’s the day you’ll get praise at work or maybe it’s a day you’ll have a terrible day because you got caught in the rain. It could be a day where you win a free car or it could be a day where you lost a bunch of money in the stock market. That’s the out of control part of your day, right? Nope, quite the contrary. If you get praise at work, it’s from hard work, it’s from being the best version of yourself. If you’re not getting praise at work that you think you deserve, apply to a new job that will appreciate you. If you get caught in the rain, put on a smile and think about the story this will be over dinner later. If you lose money in the stock market, think about how much you will gain tomorrow or think about those individuals who don’t have money who don’t have extra money to invest. If you happen to win a car, thank your past self for putting in your name for that opportunity. Some will say it was all luck but it’s not luck if you put in the effort to take the chance at something. My new personal goal for August 16th and beyond is to just have a better attitude everyday and try not to sweat the small stuff as much.
Item 228 of 360+
Today’s decluttered item is a padfolio I used out of college when I was interviewing for jobs. I also used it during travel for work a few years ago. As you can see, it has some wear and tear. Back when it was new, it was simple but it worked well while looking professional. Now I have one that I luckily got for free two years ago. Since then, this hasn’t been used and with no use, it is simply clutter.
