“What get’s scheduled gets done.” ― Michael Hyatt
“If there’s one thing that I’ve repeatedly and rather foolishly forgotten to schedule into my life it is to create times where it’s not scheduled.” ― Craig D. Lounsbrough
We were busy for a long stretch of the beginning of the summer. Being busy is a majority good thing but it will wear on a person over time. There were a few days that were accidentally hectic because Amalia and I simply double booked on things or didn’t communicate with one another. To counter this, when things slowed down a bit, we came up with a solution to help one another plan out our weeks. It’s a whiteboard calendar in the kitchen, something so simple but it really has helped us a bunch the past few weeks. Now what you may be thinking, why the heck don’t you use google calendar? Well that’s the next phase but I just need to get Amalia on board. For now, staying on board with our white board is the plan and it’s working very well.
The other thing we hope this calendar can help us with is trying to ensure we don’t double book and get too crazy anymore. It’s not fun being in a constant rush and a calendar can help with this. The more extreme part of this, which is also important, is scheduling some “unscheduled” time as the quote says. There needs to be some laziness and relaxation in your life when you’re working full time. It’s the nature of the beast and it’s just as important as having fun things to do. As we constantly talk about, it’s all about a nice healthy balance.
Item 224 of 360+
Today’s item is an old curtain that was here when we bought the house that was used as a doorway for our bedroom closet. It’s unneeded now, so time to get rid of it!
