Day 170 – Summertime Smiles

“Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August.” – Jenny Han

The quote chosen for today is a little extreme but I think a lot of us can relate. School has just let our for summer vacation, the weather is warming up (finally), and the summer vacations and outdoor events with friends and family has begun! There’s something truly special about having a barbeque with some of your friends and family in the backyard and playing yard games in the sun. Or, sitting on your front porch and listening to that thunder storm roll in while sipping a glass of lemonade.

Summer is about relaxing and enjoying life. We are (I believe) our best selves in summer because we are taking time off work a little more for events which creates a needed stress relief and break from the work environment. Not only are you now less stressed, but you also tend to be more productive by getting projects done around the house. So, we are less stressed, more productive, and we also tend to be overall happier as we have more social gatherings, trips, and beautiful summer weather days. TJ and I love riding our bikes together and we aren’t able to do that in the winter months so summer allows for some of our favorite activities to happen that we enjoy. TJ and I also bought our house in the winter so we haven’t had a summer yet in the home. We are now able to focus on doing outdoor projects to spruce up the house. This summer, make the most of it. We are now able to start traveling again, seeing our friends and family, and most importantly, living life again!

Item 170 of 360+

One of the summer projects TJ and I worked on for the house was creating an outdoor dining environment for our back deck. We no longer need these two broken chairs crowding our deck so it’s time to get rid of them.
