“Today knowledge has power. It controls access to opportunity and advancement.” – Peter Drucker
Well, it’s here. Wedding season… but also graduation season. Today we celebrated TJs cousin graduating college and will be celebrating his other cousins high school graduation along with my friend’s college graduation this year. Graduation time has me thinking about how big of an accomplishment it is for you to achieve. Both high school and college graduation is a big deal and a big step in your life for you. Not as much high school since it seems to be more of a mandatory thing these days, but college especially is a choice you make for yourself. It’s the first time in your life you’re alone and left to make big decisions for yourself for your future. Not even just college graduates, but people who go and get a certification, or learn a new skill or trade are out there doing things for them to advance themselves career-wise but also independently growing themselves as a person.
When you realize you want to do something new and expand your abilities, you are growing as a person. I think it’s so wonderful to be self-aware and work on yourself. What am I doing with my life? Am I happy right now? Am I proud of what I do/contribute in the world? These are simple but huge questions you may find asking yourself. Don’t limit yourself before you give yourself a shot. Whether it be academic, skill, or craft, you have the power to make it happen.
Item 136 of 360+
Today’s item is a set of colorful mixing bowls. We’ve had them for a while and received a new set so we decided to declutter them. They definitely had some style and some use but we no longer need them so it’s time to say goodbye.
