“There is a time for many words, and there is also a time for sleep.” – Homer, The Odyssey
“A person who has not done one half his day’s work by ten o’clock, runs a chance of leaving the other half undone.” – Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights
It’s actually kind of funny, when I was at work today I was trying to spell the word Odyssey, it did not go so well. I thought there was two D’s and one S, a common mistake I assume. So it’s only fitting that when I was looking for a quote I just happen to find one that relates to the post by Homer in The Odyssey. I am sleepy and I know why, I have been taking on too much as of recent. With the wedding approaching, the summer beginning, work transitioning to more in the office than at home, getting on a more serious workout schedule/routine and a mix of other things going on, it’s been a lot of doing. With a lot of doing, there isn’t a lot of time for not doing or sleeping as we like to call it. I have not had proper sleep in a while and I can feel it catching up to me but I am close to the weekend.
I’m sure this is something everyone can relate to with COVID restrictions lifting. The reality is, it’s going to be busier and we’re not going to be used to it. The important thing is to try to get the proper amount of rest and to not overrun or overbook with plans and activities. In this case actions speak louder than words and this week I have not held up my end of the bargain but at the same time it’s been a great week. Sometimes it happens but I am going to try to not make it the norm as much because my body will not appreciate being overrun. I did make some good decisions this week to help myself in the future by dropping out of one of my golf leagues because of how busy I am and by clearing up an overpacked weekend to ensure there is some time for some well needed rest and recovery. There is absolutely nothing wrong with some me time or we time (with the spouse or a close friend). Well it’s time for bed but let us know how you have been handling the upramp in things going on in comparison to last year.
Item 126 of 360+
Don’t save stuff you don’t need anymore. Today’s item is a perfect example of an item that would normally get put in a drawer somewhere to sit for years. This is my now, old phone case. It was nice and it of course has a little story. You can make out three marks (partial rings) on the back which are on it from when I accidentally turned on a stove top burner with my phone on it. Pretty funny and it does kind of look like a bear scratched it. Regardless, this will now be going in the trash because I have no use for it anymore. Shoutout to Keyway designs though for an awesome phone case, I got a lot of compliments on it. Also, not that is not an ad nor sponsorship, we do Minimalism Everyday for free 99.
