“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.” – Epictetus
Something we all need is some positivity in our lives. No matter how you look at a situation there is always something to be positive and negative about. This outlook on life really shapes how you live. You can look at the news, the world, out your window, and either way it will be easy to find the positive, even easier to find the negative. So it really is up to you and how you look at things. Something I want to try to do this year is stay positive. Not only do I want to be positive, I want to be grateful for what I have. Odds are if you have time to read this blog you can be grateful for what you have because at minimum you have free time to browse the Interwebs.
Being positive and grateful will not fix the world’s problems nor all of your own problems but it’s a step in the right direction. Staying positive and being grateful can go a long way for your mental health and could rub off on those who surround you. The current situation in Texas is the perfect example of why we should all be grateful for what we have. It is times like these that make you think about what really is important. It makes me appreciate having electricity, water, food, and other basic needs. We have friends in Texas so our thoughts go to them and we hope that the situation starts to get better ASAP.
