“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” -Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, J.K. Rowling
In light of our most recent Harry Potter weekend, I (TJ) thought it was only fitting to use a quote from Albus Dumbledore himself. Today we ask ourselves some questions related to happiness to reflect upon.
Q1: What does a “happy life” look like in your mind?
Everyone’s happiness is their own, you can’t go out and buy it from a store. This is why people always say money can’t buy happiness. This doesn’t mean that having money is irrelevant but it’s never the only thing. More importantly, it’s not something you can copy. Just because something makes me happy doesn’t mean it will make someone else happy. In my mind, a happy life is a simple, meaningful life. A life where you focus on what truly matters and find a good balance of core values with good relationships, health, and growth of oneself through challenges. Keep it simple and your goals will be obtainable.
Q2: What are you doing to increase your happiness?
As of today, my main focus is to try to get better with focusing on what truly matters on a monthly, weekly, daily basis. When I put more focus on the things that matter, I do notice my happiness level is always higher. Creating this blog has increased my happiness and I truly love what it has become. The future of this is unknown still but the beauty of it is in the journey and it makes it all that much more exciting. My tip of increasing happiness is to figure out ways to improve yourself and try to work on them everyday. It is still a work in progress and I still find myself running out of time in the day but improvement is not always seen daily. Sometimes you need to take a step back and see all the positives to see how much you have accomplished. Being proud of yourself and seeing your self-worth helps so much with being content and happy.

It’s Tosh Tuesday, to celebrate here is a t-shirt to donate. I have not worn it in a while but I know someone will get some good use out of it!
