“Life is all about balance. You don’t always need to be getting stuff done. Sometimes it’s perfectly okay, and absolutely necessary, to shut down, kick back, and do nothing. ”
I have been thinking a lot so let’s get inside my head on this wonderful Thursday evening. It’s TJ, and I have been constantly brainstorming about ways to improve my current day to day almost to a detriment. I think today is the day where I have to catch myself, I even feel more relaxed just talking about it now. It’s been a busy week, a lot has been on my mind the past month or two and what I really need is less, less thinking, and more relaxation for the temporary. This weekend I plan on writing the blogs still of course and completing some of my normal value adding activities, but more importantly I want to set aside time for some unbridled relaxation. This has been discussed by the Minimalists before and I have never tried nor experienced it myself but they discussed setting aside 10, 20, or even 30 minutes a day just to unwind and do nothing. I think my brain can use some of this so I will be doing this (well doing nothing) but not as a challenge, just as a desire for some needed relaxation.
To try this for yourself this weekend, the key is to have no distractions. When doing nothing you can’t be doing something. That sounds obvious, but what I mean is no TV, no phone, no sleeping, no thinking.. All you do is lay down or sit down, take some deep breaths and just relax. It’s almost a form of meditation. I can’t speak to it much yet but I will be able to experience it for myself and talk about it after the weekend! I am excited to do nothing, lol. However, I am more excited for the other activities we have going on as it is Amalia’s birthday weekend. We focused it on experiences rather than gifts so we will be going skiing for the first time and she will be having dinner with friends in an igloo!
Item 035 of 360+
Today’s item is one of my old Dallas Cowboys sweatshirts. Now I know someone will get good use out of this one lol. We have been on a sweatshirt kick as of recent because we heard the Mission nearby could use some warm sweatshirts for people in need th8is winter season. We are happy to help while decluttering our lives. I hope you all have a great rest of your day.
